It will soon be easier to visit the Caribbean and other tropical destinations later this year. On Friday, Delta Air Lines announced several new routes to popular tropical destinations including Barbados, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Mazatlán in Mexico. The airline will operate daily service from their main hub in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Barbados and Puerto Plata beginning on Nov. 23. The service to Mazatlán will operate three times per week from the airline’s hub in Minneapolis/St. Paul. starting on Dec. 21.

Delta has big route expansion plans this year to Nigeria, Ghana, and beyond, reaffirming its position as “the largest U.S. carrier in Africa.” 

Starting December 1, Delta Air Lines is relaunching its daily services to Lagos, Nigeria, from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.  

Starting Dec. 4, 2024, Delta will launch a seasonal route from Los Angeles to Brisbane, Australia, which will operate three times per week through March 28, 2025.

Flying to the land down under just got easier.   Delta Air Lines is launching brand-new service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Brisbane Airport (BNE) in Australia, the carrier announced Friday.

Delta Air Lines is expanding Down Under with an all-new ultra-long-haul route.

Visiting the Hawaiian islands just got easier thanks to Delta's new flight routes. Announced Friday, airline will begin new seasonal service from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) on Nov. 21, 2024 through April 30, 2025, Delta shared with Travel + Leisure. This new route will mean that every one of Delta’s hub locations will have direct flights to Honolulu. The carrier will also restore a route from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)  to Maui’s Kahului Airport (OGG) on November 21, 2024 through March 29, 2025.  “Over the past decade, Delta has been dedicated to refining our domestic footprint, and this year we’re strengthening our roots within our well-positioned U.S. hubs to match increased demand,” Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning Joe Esposito said in a statement shared with T+L.  Delta says that all of the new Hawaii routes will be available for purchase on February 17, 2024. 

It’ll soon be easier to visit the sugary white sand beaches of the Dominican Republic, the rum houses of Barbados, the Pacific Coast of Mexico, and the candy-colored colonial-era neighborhoods of Curaçao.

Hot on the heels of releasing its new domestic schedule—which includes connections to a slew of cities known for their access to the outdoors—Delta Air Lines has announced its updated lineup of transatlantic flights for summer 2024, complete with routes not flown in years.

As the summer travel season comes to a close, one airline is giving travelers a reason to start planning next summer's vacation. Delta Air Lines announced it will be operating its largest trans-Atlantic flight schedule ever, debuting just in time for summer 2024. The airline will be adding new destinations including Naples and bringing back service to Shannon, Ireland.  According to Delta, next summer it will operate 260 weekly flights to 18 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This includes a new flight from JFK to Munich three times a week that will start on April 9, 2024, and a daily nonstop flight to Shannon, Ireland that will begin on May 23, 2024. The carrier will expand its existing service to Italy — it already flies to Milan, Venice, and Rome — with a new daily service to Naples. It will also resume service between Atlanta and Zurich, Switzerland, four times a week, which had originally been cut in 2019. 

While many travelers are planning fall getaways or holiday season travels, Delta Air Lines is looking ahead even further with new destinations for next summer’s travel season.  

Aer Lingus is adding two new U.S. destinations, including one that may have caught the attention of Delta Air Lines.
