In the last two decades many UK seaside towns have undergone a quiet transformation. On the first Sunday of May every year, Chapel Street, where central Manchester and Salford meet, comes alive with DIY art, music and spectacle at the Sounds from the Other City festival. Art in hotels, both to admire and to purchase, has become a strong focus in recent years. The luxurious Hotel Savoy, in Florence, is another hotel that takes art seriously by creating suites for artists to stay in and through hosting regular exhibitions in its public spaces.

Brooklyn’s allure for the young, professional sector can be seen in its cozy boutiques, beautiful brownstones, vibrant atmosphere and lower cost of living than Manhattan. As a result, parts of Brooklyn have evolved into a hub of entrepreneurship, high-technology startup firms, postmodern art and design dating back to the 2010s.
