There Are 1,636 Reasons To Visit The Newly Renovated Sheraton Waikiki

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love Waikiki. Even though it’s a resort area in the middle of a bustling city, I find it luscious and exciting, with a wealth of activities nearby – not to mention gorgeous beach areas with gentle waves – and excellent people-watching! In fact, I always get a kick out of seeing barefoot surfers in their bathing suits, walking and crossing the black-topped streets, with their surfboards perched on their heads, in the middle of a highly-trafficked city filled with cars and locals in business attire. It’s a visual oxymoron – and I always get a chuckle out of it.

What’s Happening At Climate Week? At MoMA, You Can See The Dolphin Embassy

Nobody appointed Doug Michaels to serve as an ambassador of the human race. But the position, which he assumed in 1977, promised to have far greater significance than ambassadorships to China or the Soviet Union. He and co-ambassadors Alexandra Morphett and Robert Perry proposed nothing less than to develop diplomatic relations with a nonhuman species. Their seaborne embassy sought direct communication with dolphins.

Iconic San Diego Spot to See Sea Lions Now Closed to Public — Here's Why

A popular beach and location to see sea lions up close along California’s coast will now be closed to the public. San Diego’s famed Point La Jolla and Boomer Beach have been a viewing spot of the natural wildlife along the ocean for decades, and will now be closed to the public as a new measure passed unanimously by the San Diego City Council during a public hearing on Sept. 18, according to meeting minutes reviewed by Travel + Leisure. Point La Jolla is located approximately 15 miles north of downtown San Diego, along the Pacific Ocean. La Jolla's tourism website describes Boomer Beech as a «hidden beach» with «great waves» popular with body surfers.

Where To Drink In Edinburgh: The Top 13 Bars, According To Johnnie Walker Master Blender Emma Walker

One of the best things about being in the drinks business is that if you do it right, you eventually find yourself with a sprawling global network of like-minded drinkers with hyper-discerning palates. You get to spend time with the industry’s finest in the most pleasurable way: Imbibing (and breaking bread) with distillers, blenders, bartenders, brand ambassadors, spirits educators, and founders—among many others. (An education in and of itself if you ask me.)

Discovering Albania’s Timeless Vjosa River

A journey along southern Albania’s Vjosa River, one of Europe’s last undammed waterways, means traversing a landscape that looks much as it has for centuries. Flowing from Greece’s northwestern border to the Adriatic Sea, the Vjosa rushes into box canyons and gorges formed by steep forests of maples, oaks and firs. Ancient stone bridges connect its banks, spanning turquoise water. Sheep graze the valley floor, and vineyards, family farms, orchards and olive groves intermingle with fields of dandelions and red poppies.

6 of the best things to do in Montréal with kids

Sometimes called "the Paris of North America," Montréal is a captivating city that straddles two worlds: there’s a hint of old Europe, with French accents, Québécois cuisine and cobblestone-lined neighborhoods, but plenty of familiar North American food and shops as well. Montréalers tend to have a soft spot for kids, and families are generally given the royal treatment.
