It appears some people just get to start their vacations earlier than others, like the one dad TikTok is taking to task.  In early September, TikTok user One Tough Mother posted to the platform with a quick snippet of a flight from Las Vegas to Vancouver, Canada, and a tale that had everyone up in arms. «I was seated next to a mom who had a baby in her lap and a toddler beside her. It was a lot,» Kristine Sostar McLellan, the woman behind the account, wrote in a now-viral TikTok video. «I offered to switch seats with the dad, who was a few rows up, so he could be with his family. He says 'Great, thanks' AND SENDS OVER ANOTHER SMALL KID TO SIT WITH THE MOM. He enjoyed a kid-free flight.»

This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Clayton Balabanov and Teresa Davies, who sold their home and last year moved into the "Nomad Monster" mobile home they converted themselves. The following has been edited for length and clarity.

My family of five recently traveled to Spain for two weeks. Because we live near a small airport, we had to connect flights from the US to Europe. Having read so many nightmare stories about lost luggage, and especially because we were traveling with our three kids, all under 6, I chose to buy AirTags for all of our suitcases just in case.

My family of five just came back from a two-week trip around northern Spain and Madrid. We were there visiting family and sightseeing, and it was the first time my 5-year-old son and 3-year-old twins visited the country.
