Slovenia’s history has long been rooted in the tradition of beekeeping, with people having relied on the healing powers of bees and their products for years. Slovenia is also the country that has the most beekeepers per capita in the world. The country proposed to the UN that the 20th May be named World Bee Day back in 2017. The date marks the birthday of 18th century bee expert, Anton Janša, and is now celebrated every year.

I enjoy riding around Europe via rail and have taken trains in Spain, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and, recently, Italy.

China's visa-free list continues to grow, with eight more European countries being added.

As China moves ahead with its visa waiver program, it has now extended the facility to citizens of seven more countries — six of which are in Europe.

When I relocated from California to Germany four months pregnant with my second baby, I fantasized about the places my husband and I were going to take our children — swimming on the Greek islands, exploring Slovenia's rugged mountains, and taking in plays in London's West End.

A last-minute trip to Europe is as romantic as it sounds. Not only is the spontaneity thrilling, but European countries lend themselves very well to travelers who appreciate local customs and enjoy exploring new places without a rigid itinerary. Often, impulsively turning down a cobblestoned street will lead you to an exceptional hole-in-the-wall wine bar, a short-notice boutique hotel booking will be the best place you’ve ever stayed, or a chance encounter with a local will lead to a life-long friendship. But come 2025, you will need to do a little planning before you cross the pond. Next year, the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will come into effect. This rule will require visitors from visa-exempt countries to obtain a travel authorization before entering 30 European countries and this includes US travelers.

China has now announced visa-free entry for citizens of 5 countries — Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, and Slovenia starting October 15. With this move, nationals from these countries can now visit China for up to 15 days without needing a visa.

After Norway was added to China's visa-free list earlier in September, five more European countries have made the cut.

Summer vacations to Europe don’t have to mean sea and sand. Fresh water is equally as appealing, and the continent’s most beautiful lake regions are simply stunning year-round. A residential cruise ship that was supposed to travel around the world has been stuck in Northern Ireland for the past three months.

Simultaneously, the campaign combines Slovenia’s breathtaking scenery with the country’s top athletes, showcasing the country as not only a travel destination, but also as a place where sport, healthy living and sustainable values are celebrated.
