Hyatt Hotels definitely has its eyes on India and the focus specifically is on domestic Indian leisure travelers. “The leisure travel market is primarily driven by Indians traveling within India and discovering the country,” said CEO Mark Hoplamazian during his recent visit to the country. 

Next month, Nick Ozemba and Felicia Hung, the co-founders of the Brooklyn-based design studio In Common With, plan to open Quarters, a shop housed in a 19th-century TriBeCa loft. The 8,000-square-foot space is laid out like a well-appointed home: Guests enter through the library and can wander the great room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen, bar and lounge at their leisure. Everything within — furniture, lighting, art and even the pantry provisions — is available for purchase. Ozemba and Hung collaborated with several of their creative friends on the objects and décor that fill the space. They designed the tiling throughout with the New York City-based artist Shane Gabler, while a fresco depicting eels with earrings by the painter Claudio Bonuglia adorns a portion of the bar and lounge, which will open for evening service beginning this summer. The furniture on display is a mix of restored vintage pieces and new designs by Ozemba and Hung, some of which can be customized with imagery drawn up by various tattoo artists. “We’ll be able to sit down with people and play,” Ozemba says of the space’s potential to spur conversation and inspire new projects. “Retail shouldn’t be so serious. Take off your shoes and have a glass of wine.”

High-speed rail company Brightline is making it easier to catch a cruise in Florida thanks to a new partnership with Princess Cruises.

Norwegian Cruise Line is canceling over a dozen cruises 2025.  The cruise line is nixing multiple voyages throughout next year, Norwegian confirmed toTravel + Leisure on Friday. «The recent 2025 itinerary cancelations are a result of varied events including the ongoing situation in the Red Sea and Israel, modified dry dock schedules for ship enhancements, a full ship charter, and lastly, to accommodate the demand for shorter close-to-home voyages to the Bahamas,» a spokesperson for the cruise line told T+L.

The new routes will be operated by Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

A rainy day can ruin a long-planned vacation, but a new company is aiming to provide some peace of mind. WeatherPromise, a tech company that launched February, offers travel protection services and full vacation refunds if it rains for a pre-specified duration of a trip with the help of artificial intelligence. The company will refund everything from hotel reservations, theme park and sports tickets, activities, and other purchases made around a vacation. “I realize how big an investment travel is and the worry that every trip needs to be perfect — that's where WeatherPromise comes in,” WeatherPromise co-Founder Dan Price told Travel + Leisure. “Every WeatherPromise is custom-created and selected for you and your trip...Our AI engine looks at where you are going, when you will be there, and what we expect the weather to be.”  While each WeatherPromise guarantee can differ depending on the trip duration and location, Travel + Leisure spotted packages available for between $262 and $307 to cover a 7-day $5,000 trip, which provides a refund if there are several days of measurable rain.
