Despite any recent perceptions, the Caribbean islands of Turks and Caicos are making sure that tourists know it is still a viable and welcoming destination.

Experience Turks and Caicos is thrilled to announce a significant surge in air arrivals from the United Kingdom to the Turks and Caicos Islands, marking a positive turn in our tourism landscape. While the United States remains our primary tourism source, the rise in visitors from the UK during the initial months of this year is truly encouraging. From January to March 2024, we welcomed 3,946 arrivals from the UK and Europe, representing a remarkable 105.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This surge can largely be attributed to the launch of Virgin Atlantic’s non-stop flight from Heathrow, London to Providenciales on November 4th, 2023.

The island of Providenciales, locally-known as “Provo”, in Turks and Caicos is a leading travel destination for families this year. From new developments being built across the island to adventurous water sports and immersive local activities, Provo is bustling with excitement as the number of international visitors and flights continues to increase.

The Turk and Caicos Islands has emerged as the best-performing destination in the Americas for 2023.

From January to December 2023, the Turks and Caicos Islands welcomed over a million visitors. The Turks and Caicos Islands received 1,432,844* visitors combined for air and cruise for January -November 2023.  There were 595,503* air arrivals and cruise visitors were 836,341* for the period.  The air arrivals represent a 6.35 percent increase over the corresponding period in 2022 which saw 559,941 arrivals and 54.49 percent over the same period in 2021 which saw 365,460 arrivals.

Silver Airways made its inaugural flight to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands on Monday, December 18th, 2023. The airline will operate twice-weekly flights non-stop from Fort Lauderdale to Providenciales.

The Turks and Caicos Islands is celebrating over a million visitors to the destination by air and cruise.  From January to October 2023, the Turks and Caicos saw 535,893 visitors arrive by air and 677,943 via cruise.

World-renowned international hotelier Kempinski Hotels has been named operator of a unique new luxury beachfront residences and resort, located on one of the last remaining pristine stretches of the award-winning Grace Bay Beach in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. The project is being developed by JTRE, a leading European real estate developer and will be operated by Kempinski, Europe’s oldest hotelier – with more than 80 premium properties under management in 36 countries. The two companies signed an operating agreement and together will bring a new level of internationally renowned hospitality, contemporary design and elegant service to the Turks & Caicos Islands portfolio of vacation and ownership offerings.

The Turks and Caicos Islands continues to shine on the global stage, once again clinching the prestigious titles of the Caribbean’s Leading Beach Destination and the Caribbean’s Most Romantic Destination at the World Travel Awards’ Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony. This esteemed event unfolded at Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Saint Lucia.

In an inspirational demonstration of passion, preparation and poise, Naomi Onwufuju, Junior Minister of Tourism of the British Virgin Islands, brought home the winner’s plaque at the 19th Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Regional Tourism Youth Congress, held at Beaches Turks & Caicos in Providenciales on Friday. Competing against students from 13 other Caribbean destinations, the 16-year-old skillfully presented three innovative strategies her country could undertake to develop and implement an initiative whereby tourism stakeholders and their allied partners can work together to enhance access, safety, use, and enjoyment of the destination’s tourism offerings by visitors with disabilities.
