South Africa is widely known and loved for its stunning landscapes, safari experiences, wealth of wine, and of course the vibrant city of Cape Town. But whether travellers are first time visitors looking for something a little different, or South Africa lovers wanting to go beyond the tourist trail, the country has so much more to offer than many itineraries include.

Seeing some of Africa's most famous animals in the wild has been on my bucket list for years. With adventure travel on the rise, I decided to take the plunge and make the 20+ hour flight to Africa to visit some of Kenya's best safari parks.

I've been on two African safari trips. Both involved glamping but on completely different budgets.
