If you plan to park your car at an airport for more than a day or two, fees can add up quickly—even at the discounted off-site lots. And even if you don’t leave your car at the airport while you’re gone, your car just sits somewhere being of no use to anybody while someone you don’t know arrives at your hometown airport and rents a car, again for a stiff fee. And maybe you’ll need a car rental at your destination, too.

Summer, also known as high season for travel, is almost here. And according to AAA just about everyone is poised to hit the road. The organization predicts two-thirds of what it categorizes as “leisure travelers” plan to take vacations this summer, meaning millions of Americans will be hitting the road.

Cruising in the Middle East is about to start a new chapter. This week, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, approved the building of the Dubai Cruise Terminal, a partnership between Meraas Holding and Carnival Corporation in the developing Dubai Harbour. It’s part of an initiative to draw 20 million visitors a year to the emirate.

The study is based on survey results of more than 22,000 expats from many different home countries who live and work abroad.
